The Myth of Western Humanity

In the name of Allah, The Lord of the Worlds.

In recent years, the myth of Western humanity has been shattered, by the deafening silence surrounding the devastating events in Gaza. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has unfolded with a disturbing lack of condemnation from Western nations, exposing a disconcerting apathy towards the barbaric murders, the plight of over a million Palestinians living without essential resources, and the relentless bombardment of schools, mosques and hospitals.

The heart-wrenching reality is that social media platforms have become live witnesses to the horrors experienced by the people of Gaza. Images of trapped men, women, and the most vulnerable children and babies — caught in the deliberate bombardment should have triggered an outcry for justice and compassion. However, the silence from Western countries has been profound, revealing a troubling blind spot in their commitment to human rights and justice.

The lack of condemnation for the relentless aggression in Gaza has raised questions about the consistency of Western values when it comes to addressing injustice. The disparity in responses to similar tragedies in different parts of the world reflects an uncomfortable truth about the selectivity of compassion.

The live broadcast of schools, mosques, and hospitals being targeted adds another layer of disbelief to the situation. In an era where information is disseminated instantly through social media, the silence of Western nations becomes all the more glaring. The myth of Western humanity dies a little more with each unmet plea for intervention, as the world watches in astonishment at the selective indignation exhibited by those who claim to champion human rights.

The myth of Western humanity has been dealt a severe blow in the tragic events unfolding in Gaza. The silence on Israel’s actions, the deprivation of essential resources, and the destruction of vital infrastructure challenge the moral compass of the Western nations. It is imperative for these nations to reassess their priorities, acknowledge their role in the ongoing crisis, and take meaningful steps towards restoring the myth of Western humanity through genuine commitment to justice, compassion, and the protection of human rights for all.
