Causes Of Depression

Depression

Depression is a prevalent illness that causes many problems in the person diagnosed with this illness, like the continuous feeling of sadness or losing interest in daily activities. Depression can considerably decrease the ability to do daily routine work at home or the workplace. The list of symptoms is long, but the most common depression symptoms are as follows:

Not having enough sleep or sometimes too much sleeping.

They are losing interest in daily activities.

Losing Appetite.

The person is Constantly feeling guilty.

The person is Losing concentration.

Not be able to make decisions.

The person is always having thoughts of death or suicide.

Depression is a severe illness, so we should not rule out its diagnosis improperly. If a person shows any above symptoms, we should wait at least two weeks and have him under check to rule out the diagnosis of depression.

Gender Gap

According to some studies, it has been observed that women have depression cases a lot than males. Usually, these are because of hormonal changes in women. Still, several other risks are involved, like biological, inherited problems, pregnancy issues, and puberty changes that may bring depression in young girls.

Types of Depression

There are many types of depression, but experts divide them into two major categories, which are most common in masses, which are as follows:

Major depressive disorder.

Persistent depressive disorder.

Other than these two major depressions, some are as follows:

Psychotic Depression.

Situational Depression.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Bipolar Disorder.

Peripartum (Postpartum) Depression.

Causes of Depression

Today, experts in the healthcare sector are not 100% sure why a depressive state occurs. There are many causes for this illness, but some of them are very common, which are as follows:

Medications

Sometimes a person using any particular type of medication will have a depression episode. It usually happens when that person uses that specific drug for some time—every drug has different effects on different persons.

Some drugs also increase the risk of depression. For example, the everyday use of the Isotretinoin drug that doctors with skin acne problems prescribe has depression—some corticosteroids. Especially drugs like benzodiazepine & Bromazepam are being prescribed in specific states when people cannot have enough sleep.

Abuse

Many people face abuse from others, from kindergarten to adults. This abuse can be physical, sexual, or it can be emotional. In most cases, victims of abuse are females because they are weak against men. Most of these cases occur in workplaces. Recent studies by related health organizations have claimed that males in workplaces show rudeness to those females who are better than them in all ways.

Males or sometimes women also abuse their partners in their marital life. The reasons behind these behaviors are generally of tensions of their daily routines, and they might be unhappy with each other. Most males in their marital life abuse their partner with physical and sexual abuse, whereas women abuse their partners emotionally. These marital situations lead the way to depression for the weak partner.

Many students, both male,s, and females, are abusing fellow students. These abuses occur due to the students' social behavior; some of them might be weak in their studies or have hard times in their lives.

Major Life Events

Some people have depression risks because of any life event of their life, and it might be any reason such as being divorced, getting a job, being rejected by someone closer. These life events may cause a severe depressive state to anybody in society. It is also considered by many experts why someone gets depressed about those events. In this regard, they say, it involves too many factors, but some of them are standard such as,

Personal Insecurity: Many people face personal insecurity. They are unable to sense the situation, perhaps of anxiety. They cant decide how to handle the situation for better results. These personal Insecurities leads them to a severe depressive state.

Anxiety: Many people have an anxiety problem, which leads them to a depressive state.

Death

Some times death of a close friend also puts someone in depression when people lose someone with close relationships like life partners, children, parents, or even friends. In this kind of depression, primarily depressed persons isolate themselves from others. They lose interest in taking an influential part in any social gatherings, and even sometimes, they try to avoid using phones. If we talk with them, firstly they will not answer, and somehow they will feel the lousy mindset of there at that moment. They will speak everything except they will say anything regarding death or suicide in the end.

We should not leave them alone in this state of mind because of their current situation. There will be many chances they will try to end their life, and they will not understand that it's not the end of their life, but the opposite is that they will give the depressions to others they consider close.

Overuse of substances

Many people using different substances regularly with high quantities may fall under this depression risk. Alcohol is a substance that has adverse effects on the human body after overuse. In light of impact, people lose their sense of their surroundings and don't understand what is happening around them. Sometimes they even commit serious crimes, especially sexual abuse. In severe cases, they fell into a depressive state.

Other than alcohol, there are dozens of other dangerous substances available in the markets which give the short time of pleasure. Still, if people use them regularly, they become addicted and eventually fall steeply into depression. If healthcare staff was not helped, they ultimately died of these substances. Some of these substances include Heroin, Ice, Ametaphine, etc.

Treatment to Cure Depression

There are many treatments available for the treatment of depressions of different types. But experts divide them into three major categories: natural Treatments, Medications, and a visit to a psychologist.

Natural Treatment: In these treatments, it is instructed by the concerned expert that we change our daily routine, like daily exercising, eating healthy food, avoiding having discussions, meet other people with smiling faces. Especially ignore the objection.

Medicinal Treatment: Sometimes, doctors add specific drugs to cope with depression. These drugs mainly involve brain activity relaxation—the same medications prescribed if any person has insomnia.

Psychologist Treatment: In some depression cases, doctors recommend the patient to visit a psychologist. These experts mainly have all kinds of discussions with patients, and after that, they prescribe any drug or just instruct their patients to change their lifestyles.
