Global Imperative towards introducing ‘Global Universal Health Coverage Fund (GUHCF)’

In order to achieve universal health coverage, endorsed by all UN member states, countries require a substantial amount of finance which is really a very big pie in comparison with the existing resources for many countries across the globe. Some of them possess a vulnerable health system where existing resources is far away from the required level. For mitigating this gap as well as strengthening the capacity of tackling public health hazards all across the world and for searching the innovative, local, long-lasting solution among the member states of WHO, Global UHC Fund (GUHCF) is imperative to crack down. This fund intends to raise from some of the proposed innovative financing options i.e. Sports for UHC model, Nominal charge on Mobile subscription, Levy on Currency Transactions, Airline tax, De-Tax Concept, Imposing tax on Tobacco products, Donation (Personal and Corporate), etc. WHO is responsible for monitoring this fund where WBG (World Bank Group) plays a managerial role. Through concerted endeavour for bolstering GUHCF from all associated stakeholders, unprecedented success in moving towards UHC will be able to come into reality throughout the world.
