Let’s Talk About Something Else

Through today, my essays here have been largely about politics. US politics, because, well, I care.

But a long time interest of mine has been caught up by some of the essays on this Medium (ha!) about aliens, UAPs, etc. I first read about UFOs as a twelve year old, while at the same time reading Heinlein. So, yeah, I was a true believer for a while.

But then I grew up and realized that due to the government (and academia) making that subject forbidden to reasonable adults wanting a career, it would take real evidence to convince the public of any possible truth. That, in fact, there’d be a lot of BS to wade through to even get there. And so it is.

First, let me get this out of the way. You’ll see from my profile, I’m a long time (retired) Fed. 42 years, 38 of that working for the FDA, so no ET, no UFOs, no UAPs, no secrets. Yes, I had a confidential clearance, but that was required to do the IT thing. Not alien tech. So, as regards aliens, I’m just like everybody else — ignorant except for what I read in the public sphere.

But in doing my reading, and seeing what people are writing about the new “openness” of Congress to this, what I do not see is people questioning “why”. Why keep it a secret? I mean, even if Roswell was the first, we’ve had some alien tech, supposedly, for around 80 years, so what gives? What’s taking so long?

Oh, sure some have speculated, and lots of ideas, but all speculative. Based on stuff we don’t know.

But there’s something we DO know. After some 80 years with alien tech (supposedly) what do we NOT see? The United States military flying gravity free saucers defending our airspace, that’s what. Look, the United States is, because of our history and geographic location, very determined to defend our ground and our airspace. We spend trillions annually to do just that.

Do you honestly think that if we had alien technology that we knew how to operate AND HOW TO DUPLICATE, that we wouldn’t be doing exactly that right now? Openly, defiantly, and with attitude? You bet your ass we would be.

Of course, 80 years is enough time to fake a research background for just about anything more advanced in some forms of minor tech we may have found on any of those alien ships we may have. So is there alien tech we’re using now? Maybe. I wouldn’t be surprised. But anti-gravity? It’s obvious the UAPs flying though our airspace use some form of anti-gravity. Ask any pilot who has witnessed one flying rings around his advanced US fighter.

The fact that we are not using that tech today tells me one thing.

At the very least, even if we have people who’ve cracked the physics of it, we just don’t have the technological industrial base necessary to duplicate that tech. Even if we’ve pilots who could fly those captured saucers or tic tacs, if we can’t make more, we need to keep it secret until we can.

Or, at least I can see that argument.

So, now let’s mix in some politics.

Let’s say many of the more detailed pictures of the aliens I’ve read are somewhat true, that there’s a community of aliens out there watching us. One with a variety of governing structures. Some authoritarian, some more progressive, a few of some unknown types.

Well, according to our sketchy public knowledge, they could have been watching us for potentially millennia. So, now, how do you think that community (either as a whole or individually) is going to react if the most (supposedly) technologically advanced nation on earth suddenly gets taken over by an authoritarian political party? And has the possible chance to reverse engineer their advanced space flight technology.

Think about that.

Why do you think that some of the most rabidly authoritarian Republicans would ally themselves with AOC of all people, in calling for more attention to this technology?

Would YOU be comfortable with an authoritarian US government getting its hands on advanced alien space traveling technology? Like anti-gravity?

Now, think about THAT, and try to sleep tonight.
