Friends,

The last time I wrote to you, we were celebrating a successful and exciting conclusion to 2018 — Wyze’s first full year in business. In that letter, I shared with you some of our company’s short history, the core values we hold ourselves to every day, and what you can expect from us going into 2019.

That letter is my personal commitment to you as CEO of Wyze that the product you purchased yesterday will become even better tomorrow. …

We are proud to announce our partnership with Xnor.ai, which will bring together Xnor’s ultra-efficient and low-power AI computer vision capabilities to Wyze’s line of affordable, capable smart home products to benefit our burgeoning community of users. Wyze Cams will now offer Person Detection powered by Xnor’s edge AI capabilities, a feature that automatically identifies when people appear in the camera’s field of view. Wyze Cam owners can choose to receive push notifications for real-time alerts when a person is detected in the frame and filter event videos with people. …

Our goal was to disrupt the smart home camera industry, and the overwhelming conclusion was that we could do that if our camera was priced at $30 or even $40 for some extra flexibility.
