I think this is very important. To add to your point about how this affects willpower… when you’re not 100% committed every action is a question. “Should I go to the gym today I went yesterday?” “Will having that cake really hurt my goals?” If you’re fully committed you can quickly dismiss these thoughts and move on, no energy lost. You avoid the internal battle of willpower attrition when you’re committed and make it much easier to achieve your goals.
