How to stand on the shoulders of giants

This was a great article. I’ve definitely been guilty of this mentality in both my own projects and my career as a software engineer. I think it’s the desire for control. I had a similar epiphany after a large project where I tried to do everything myself took far too long and ended up having far too features to be useful. In my latest undertaking I’m taking this philosophy as far as I can and incorporating secure, tested, polished libraries and tools whenever they exist. This was a great reminder not to fall back to old habits. Thanks for this. Highly recommend to all developers out there, both working for companies and contributing to their own projects.
