Why I travel alone, and why you should too

Almost a year ago I decided to go travel alone and now after I did a few trips alone people started to ask me always the same question “Why do you travel alone?”. I am tired of answering to that question, I travel alone because I don’t have a choice. Let me explain it in more details, I love to travel and I always wanted to go somewhere. I was planning some trips abroad with some friends and in the end, the result is always the same. Someone quit! It would not be a problem if one person quits but it’s like a chain if one friend gives up from trip few days after someone else will give up. Long story short, all friends quit! Every fucking time.

Sure, wait for someone to fuck up your plans

I mean it’s a regular thing when you are planning something everyone will be like “Yea, dude, we should go! It will be awesome!” and when time passes they start to give up until you are left alone. Well, one more trip is ruined, ok we should start planning some other trip. Next trip will be the same. Well, fuck it, I will not wait for anyone, I don’t want to depend on anyone! If I want to go somewhere I will go with you or without you. I know how to take care of myself, I don’t need someone with me. Next time I did not try to plan something with my friends, I just bought a ticket and went abroad! And guess what? It was AWESOME! If I tried to plan a trip with friends I would probably still waiting.

Stand to the ground

Just think about this situation, do you realize that we are waiting for something all our life? Life will pass and you will still wait. Wait for what? Wait to die? Well, my life will not pass by because of waiting for someone. Just think about it, how often do you wait for someone? It’s really hard to see how a big part of our lifes we are waiting for things to happen.

I have been in many countries, but two years ago I was able to count all countries that I visited with fingers from one hand! If I didn’t go that one time alone probably I would still be able to count my trips with one hand. That one decision broke the ice because I realized that traveling could be fun and awesome without company.

I mean, if you are alone:

• you will have more motivation to meet someone and to start a conversation
• you will meet awesome people out there
• you don’t need to agree with someone where to go next, just go

Tell me, are you waiting for someone? Yes? Well, just continue to wait at least it will be easier for you to answer where have you been. You will just need one hand for it.
