A journey of change
I was not a literature lover from always. A twenty year old now, I hadn’t started passionately reading so much until I was 18. So my first novel was, 'The monk who sold his Ferrari’, it was for a college term paper and I left it mid way. It was not until November,2015, that I came across this beautiful novel named, 'A thousand splendid Suns’. The story line was great, the plot was intriguing and the set up was amazing and for the first time I realized that even words, mere combination of alphabets, can teleport you, that words can give you goosebumps, that the very medium of speech can leave you speechless. And now in me, you will find a person, who two years back wondered how people could read books with such passion, not getting bored at all, talk of books all day if allowed and even profess a religion called, 'Literature’, if it were ever to exist.
Science satiates the human mind. Science asks questions and itself answers the intricacies of everything, of the world we are a part of. Science and technology has and will take mankind to its sublime glory, but what about the world within us? For me literature satiates it, books pacify it. And you cannot be any luckier if you just go on finding the right books to read. With every word you read you just go on to picturize it and there you have a version of what you read, which you can paint in any colour you want to, with any intensity you choose to. And that version is all yours. That is the charm. You will have questions, but only you can answer them. That’s the magic with books.
