5 Useful Chrome Extensions for Photographers

As freelance photographers, it is important to be resourceful and leverage on tools that help improve your workflow. While there may be several tools out there, browser extensions are also practical and useful tools that photographers often overlooked.

Here are 5 useful extensions for photographers:

  1. Pixlr-O-Matic: It comprises of a wide range of stunning effects and tools. With Pixlr-O-Matic, you can important the image from your computer or capture it using your built-in webcam. This extension can pretty much serve as a substitute to Photoshop.
  2. Picasa: Picasa brings photographers together — it is the fastest and seamless extension to share your photos online with fellow passionate photographers. Aside from the ease of sharing photos, Picasa also provides several edit functions to adjust your photos.
  3. Save to Google Drive: More often than not, you might be looking at photographs online — be it for inspiration or just as a hobby. This extension allow you to save these images directly from your browser to your Google Drive account. Furthermore, it also lets you save different formats of content e.g. links to images, HTML etc.
  4. Hover Zoom: Hover Zoom makes it easy to browse thru thumbnails i.e. hover your mouse pointer over the thumbnail and you will be able to view a full size version of the image instantly.
  5. Gmail to MailChimp by Toolny: Aside from photos-related extensions, since the festive season is around the corner, you might want to use MailChimp to send your clients/prospects greeting cards. You can do so by easily adding new fans/followers to your MailChimp lists using this extension and then creating campaigns to send season’s greetings to the lists.
