Struggling to find the perfect present?

Want to give something meaningful?

Cash-strapped?

Too often we become stuck in our busy lives, rushing from one task to the next, trying to do as much as we can to make ends meet, fit in with societies preconceived notion of life keeping up with the Joneses. We’re so busy that we can forget the little things that our colleagues or even strangers do to help us.

Showing Gratitude towards others can often be the easiest and most rewarding way to give.

It might be as simple as saying thankyou to someone who lets you out of the lift first, or telling someone how much you have appreciated their support over the last week. It doesn’t need to be a long email or 30min face-to-face discussion, although it should be given without expectation in return. Gratitude works because:

1. It shows that you’re humble enough to appreciate others and not act egotistical.

2. You feel better because you’ve given positive encouragement to someone else.

3. It is uncommon and unexpected.

I’m grateful for my strong supportive family, not just my parents but extended family: aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents. I’m blessed to grow up in a Mediterranean culture, surrounded by hard-working, generous, and supportive family members.

I encourage you to all to show some gratitude, in which-ever way you feel most comfortable in doing.
