“The Power of a hand”

Did you know how much power your hands can have? You see I heard this sermon called “The Power of your hand” and boy when I say it hit me, it hit me to the point God had to seriously humble me and made me finally break down to surrendered. This sermon was a serious wake up call for me. The weight I was carrying was taken a toll on my health issues. Not to mention my stubbornness and prideful self lead me to go blindsided and went into a dark place that I allow hurt and anger to take over. Not only did I allow it, I didn’t realize I was hurting the ones around me. When all they were trying to do is help me spiritually and tell me I had to move forward. Who would of thought, I was fighting with my fist up. So this sermon breaks down in how “The Power of a hand” can take control of your own life.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
You see we are too busy trying to fight God’s battles that we forget to leave it in His hands. So when we cry out to Him, we pray with our fists and close hands and then wonder why we don’t see results. You see God wants to bless us and wants us to receive blessings but how could He, if we have our hands close or rolled up with a fist. How are we going to receive His blessings if we are being guarded within ourselves. God wants us to reach out with open hands so we can be able to receive and for Him to pour out our blessings.

Having our hands close or rolled up to a fist, won’t allow any blessings to come in. I realize that this whole time I’ve been praying and reaching out to God with my hands close, most times with my hands rolled up as a fist. Guarded and protective because I was carrying nothing but hurt, hate, anger, resentment and not able to trust anybody, including God. How can we pray about our calling and purpose if we have our hands close. Having our hands closed, is allowing the baggage you carry to stop us from our purpose. We need to let go of the baggage that’s weighing us down and stopping us from moving forward. We fail to see how it’s keeping us from happiness and the blessings that God wants to give us.
Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make straight your paths.
You see how do you expect to serve or even do God’s work with our hands close? How can you even hold a mic if your hands are close? We can’t, we need to have it open in order for God to do His work. God is letting us know, it’s time to let go of that baggage and for us to finally open up our hands to receive what He is trying to bless us with. We can’t keep carrying something that’s weighing us down and also trying to receive God’s blessings. We obviously have to put it down in order to grab what God has for us.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
So it’s time for you to stop fighting with your hands close and open up your hands to the God almighty and see His work be done. Let go in what’s holding you back and give it all to Him. You will see how light your heart will be and how much weight you have been carrying the moment you open up your hands and surrender it all to Him.
Lamentations 3:41
Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven,

1 Peter 5:6–10
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
