First of all, The Beatles were a famous rock band in the sixties. They were 4 boys, named Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The band come from Liverpool, in England. They were active from 1960 to 1970.

At the beginning, the band was called “The Quarrymens", and Ringo Starr wasn’t in the group : Pete Best was. They were playing during ~4 years in some bars, not being payed a lot. The guys were up 10 hours a day, with little breaks and singing all day.

One day, a producer came in the bar where they were playing and asked them if they would record an album. The 4 boys accepted and came in the studio for recording their first album. After few hours, the producer said that the drummer wasn’t enough performant, and that the band had to change him. Pete Best was fired, and the 3 boys engaged Ringo Starr. They changed the name of the band too, and became “The Beatles". This name is a mix with “beat" and “beetles" ; they wanted to have a funny name, who still in minds. They recorded some songs, and then published them. The songs were really good, and the 4 boys became gentilly famous in England. They started to be invited at public emission TV, but a lot of people thought that they were bad guys and that their music was “black music".

Since they became famous, they tried to engage a carrier to the United States. When they climbed down of the airport of Washington, some fans were screaming their names and were really excited. The thing was, that songs who were liked in England weren’t the same in US. They had to figured out wich songs were most liked here. The carrier was really good, and they were almost the one who were a success in US : a lot of singers were really famous in England, but when they started all over the world, they failed it.

The 15 August 1965 at the Shea Stadium (New-York), the Beatles did the first concert in a stad : the concert rooms wasn’t big enough for the people. The Beatlesmania started. Whenever they went, fans were here, screaming and destroying all just for touching them, or talking to them. They couldn’t do what they wanted and it was like a prison life. So, in 1967, they stopped doing concert because it was too much. They concentrated more into the songs and albums that they were inventing.

With this precious time and energy, they did they’re best album : the White album, and the Stg Pepper album. The Abbey road album was really appreciated too.

This glow up was caused by the new culture they tried. They also tried new instruments like the Sitar (in “Within Or Without You) and the Bach Trumpet (in Penny Lane). They did a hindu voyage with the Mahashiri sage in India, and they learned a lot. George Harrison was the one who liked the most this new culture. Then, when they came back to their house, the boys had a lot of inspiration. At the beginning, the public didn’t liked this new try, but with the time, it became the best songs they ever made !

The British celebrities were thinking at all : in the last album writer, Abbey Road, the last song is “the end”, like if they was announcing that the band gonna disappear (the last album published was Let It Be because they were some problems, but he should came out before Abbey Road).

The band was very influenced by Chuck Berry, especially Paul McCartney. For example, some of the songs were started with a remix from the beginning of “Jhonny B.Good”. The beginning of this song is famous for all, and it’s a melody that makes that you want to get up and dance.

Little Richard influenced them too : the band played some songs of him, like “Long Tall Sally".

Then, the 4 guys started an alone carrier, but they still friends !

Sadly, John Lennon and George Harrison died few years ago, but Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are still friends and they stil doing concert, album, etc…

Today, Paul is 77 years old and Ringo is 79 years old.
