I Took Ecstasy Last Night …

The legal sort.

It was weird.

But awesome.

But weird.

So here I was …

Watching Season #1 of Friends — you know the part where you’re throwing shit at the TV because you just want Ross & Rachel to HTFU and get on with it.

And suddenly I got enveloped in this incredible state of bliss.

Every part of my body was wrapped in this smooshy feeling of loveliness.

It was so intense I could feel my cells giggling. I was giggling. And hugging myself like an idiot.

If the neighbours looked through the window they’d think I was crazy (they probs already do with the amount of cats that mill around my place).

Anyhoo.

It lasted about an hour.

Then I put The Project on and it was all death, murder & ISIS and slowly the bliss faded away.

But I was still ok with death, murder & ISIS oddly.

This feeling is from the intense work I’ve been doing on myself every morning.

I’m up at sparrow’s fart.

I grapple with myself if I should stay in my warm, smooshy bed to work.

Or go suffer the below zero temperature of the living room.

Sometimes I go ‘below’ for shits & giggles. Today I opted for smoosh.

And I got to work. Journalling, reading, writing & pondering.

Over 2 hours, I’d gotten myself so smooshed up, that I thought I’d slop out of bed. **That sounds a bit gross.

Which brings me to today’s lesson kids;

Feeling good is just a thought away.

But we let our anger, judgement, fear, anxiety drive us like a big yellow bus.

I know you’ve heard the pundits bang on about mindfulness, softness and making yourself feel good.

So this is another reminder to do that.

Negative feelings can be addictive. We love a little drama sometimes (me included).

But it can eat away at you and at the end of the day?

That way of being disconnects you from friends, family, workmates … in fact your life in general.

So give yourself a little smooshy hug today!
