How to cut Negative Marking in the NEET Exam 2018
NEET is the most important medical entrance examination. Lakhs of students across the country appear at this examination and only a few thousands are selected. This makes the exam very difficult and tough. In the competitive examination like NEET, fraction of marks matters in the success and failure of students. So, it is necessary for them to know in advance about this examination and marking pattern.
Undoubtedly, there is a cut throat competition among the students in NEET examination. Negative marking is also there. There’s negative marking, where there’s a deduction of 1 mark for every wrong answer. All aspirants appearing for NEET exam cannot ignore negative marking, as it can make a difference between a good and average rank. So, NEET aspirants must follow the following tips to avoid negative marking.
1. Read all Questions Seriously:
The NEET aspirants are advised to go through the question paper thoroughly and seriously in the first place. Some questions are tricky. It is necessary to understand them clearly before making any attempt. Haste makes waste. So, you are not to be hasty. You must do speedily, but not hastily because it will lead you to commit mistake. And making wrong answers mean destroying your prospect of selection. So, you must read the questions deeply before giving answers.
2. Don’t be Over Excited:
NEET aspirants should be confident, but must not be overconfident. Overconfidence about the answer of the question may lead sometime to mistake and that results in the negative marking. It has also been experienced that some students get overexcited just after having the first glance at the question paper and make silly mistake. Overconfidence results in committing mistake. The answer of the question would be known to the candidates as they have already studied if they had kept themselves cool, calm and composed in the examination hall.
3. Leave Aside the Doubtful Questions:
NEET aspirants are advised to leave the doubtful questions behind and move ahead and attempt only those questions the answers of which they are pretty sure. There may be mistake in solving doubtful questions and every mistake will result in negative marking. So, to decrease the negative marking attempt only those question about which you are sure.
4. Stop Worrying:
First of all, students start worrying the moment the question paper is given to them. The result is that they forget even the answers of those questions which they had studied during the preparation time. So stop worrying and start thinking with confidence how to solve the questions. Never allow negativity to overpower you.
5. Don’t Give Wrong Answer at the Last Moment:
Generally, it has been experienced that most of the NEET aspirants give wrong answers at the last moment with the intention of filling up the answer sheet and in the hope that if they proved to be right, they would get marks. But this way never happens. Giving answer on the basis of imagination and expectation mostly proves to be wrong. So, never answer at the last moment only to fill the answer sheet.
6. Go Through NEET Guidelines:
It is necessary for the NEET aspirants to go through the instructions before attempting the questions. They are also required to keep their answer sheet neat and clean. They must not do overlapping while answering the questions. Never choose two answers in the OMR sheet as that question will be invalid and lead to negative marking.
