School holidays are known to be the most expensive time to travel, the flights and hotels are expensive driven by the high demand. We have analyzed what is the real impact on flights from UK during spring half-term school holidays in February 2019.

The spring half-term dates slightly vary for England, Scotland, Wales and the Northern Ireland. The initial study focuses on England only assuming that the similar pattern will be repeated in other regions.

In 2019 spring half-term dates in England are February 18–22. We checked several popular flights of Ryanair and easyJet and specifically the departures on Saturday, February 16 which is the most convenient day to start a trip.

Conclusions

We confirmed that the the flights from England during spring half-term school holidays are significantly more expensive:

The flights are 50–150% more expensive than yearly average
The flights are 100–200% more expensive than February average
