5 mindfulness books you could buy for the same price as Time magazine’s special issue

3 min readSep 24, 2017

Mindfulness and meditation has been growing in popularity as of late, perhaps reaching a peak with Time Magazine releasing a $14 special issue. Here are 5 ways you could spend that same amount of cash (or less) on some of the best resources around.

Classic perspectives on mindfulness

  1. One of the leading authorities on mindfulness, Jon Kabat Zinn, gave us a deep well of digestible secular wisdom, in Wherever You Go, There You Are. This book occupies the space on my shelf next to the Tao Te Ching as something you can open up to any page and find a passage that speaks to you at that moment.

2. Few people can evoke a sense of calm and compassion as easily as Thich Nhat Hanh (pronounced “tick not hawn”) and The Miracle of Mindfulness is a perfect place to get started.
