Genesis

A poem.

In my beginning I created a universe. A place of astounding beauty containing all of the potential of creation.

Not able to let go of my creation, a piece of my soul was left behind to be a caretaker and guide.

But I was not whole and longed for the piece of me that was left behind.

So I summoned him home.

When he joined me I absorbed all of the joy and pain of the entire history of creation.

And I was whole.

In my beginning, I was created as a place of astounding beauty that contained all of the potential of the universe.

I was given the bounty and knowledge of spirit to guide and take care of me.

I am whole but someday I will return home to integrate the experience of this life with the entire history of the universe.

Genesis was written in 2008 as part of a seven course dinner experience I put on, each course was preceded by a card with the artwork and words for a single verse.
