Frontier Airlines is an ultra-low-cost airline based in Denver, where it has been based since 1994. It serves more than 100 destinations with more than 500 daily flights on its A320 family aircraft. Frontier has bases in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, Tampa and Phoenix, where its more than 6,400 employees are located.

Frontier Airlines Business Class

Frontier’s frequent flyer loyalty program is Frontier Miles. It’s free to join and mile-based, so every mile you fly in the air with Frontier is equal to 1 mile earned with their program. The program also offers a credit card that allows you to earn miles and elite status with your spending.

History

The first version of Frontier Airlines was created from the merger of three smaller airlines in 1950. The company grew until the 1980s, where due to stiff competition within the airline industry, it was sold and later merged with Continental. Airlines.

As Continental began to move away from Denver, executives at the original Frontier Airlines business class created its second version in 1994, with a fleet of just two planes.

After continuing to grow, the airline filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and was acquired by Republic Airways.

It is currently well known for being an ultra-low-cost airline, but that did not become a reality until 2014, offering competition to Southwest and Spirit. You may easily recognize their planes from a distance by the animal depictions on the tails of their planes, which highlight the diverse wildlife of North America.

How to earn Frontier miles

Signing up for Frontier Miles is simple and comes at no additional cost. Head to the Frontier Miles registration page and create your account to get started. Please provide all information required to create your account and submit the form.

Once you sign up, you’ll be ready to start earning miles that you can use on your future trips. There are many ways to earn Frontier Miles, including flying, spending with Frontier’s co-branded credit card, shopping with its partners, and more.

Flying border airlines
Earning miles with the Frontier Miles program when flying with the airline is simple. Every mile flown will earn you at least 1 redeemable mile, and if you maintain program status, you have the opportunity to earn even more.

Earn with Frontier Airlines
Every mile flown on Frontier flights will earn you one mile in their frequent flyer program, Frontier Miles, regardless of the price of your ticket.

That way, a $70 ticket between Atlanta and Las Vegas, a distance of about 1,747 miles flown, will earn you 1,747 miles in your Frontier Miles account. If you fly with Frontier regularly and earn elite status with it, you have the opportunity to turn each flight into more rewards thanks to elite mile multipliers.

  1. Elite 20K: Earn 1 mile per mile flown
  2. Elite 50K: Earn 1.25 miles for every mile flown
  3. Elite 100K: Earn 1.5 miles for every mile flown

The higher you climb the status ladder, the faster you can reach your next prize ticket. A hypothetical 1,000-mile flight will earn a base member 1,000 redeemable miles, but an Elite 100K member will earn 1,500 miles.

Get status with Frontier Airlines
There are four levels to Frontier elite status. The base level offers virtually no benefits beyond the ability to earn miles when you fly. From then on, each status level comes with additional benefits, so the more you fly, the more rewarding your experience will be.

You can purchase Frontier miles directly from the program website. Miles can be purchased in quantities of 1,000 to 30,000 at a cost of $0.025 per mile. Purchasing miles, regardless of any discount promotions, is typically not the best way to earn miles for award travel. Frontier miles are relatively easy to earn, and purchasing miles should primarily be relegated to topping out your account for a specific redemption in mind in cases where you are short.

How to redeem Frontier miles
In reality, earning miles is only half the fun. Now that you know how to earn them, let’s take a look at what all those miles can get you.

On Frontier Airlines flights
Redeeming Frontier miles is easy. There are three award levels you can choose to book: Value, Standard, and Last Seat. Value redemptions include the same benefits as a standard rate. Standard awards have the same benefits as standard rates but offer more availability. Last Seat Awards are only available to Elite members and offer the same benefits as standard fares, but allow you to book any flight where there is a free seat.

While award redemptions are the same for all international destinations, taxes and fees will be different depending on the country and airport of departure/arrival.

Fee
Baby rates

There are no fares for children under 2 years of age traveling as lap infants on any Frontier flights. Additionally, if you purchase a Discount Den membership, children 14 and under can fly free on eligible flights when flying with an adult on a Discount Den fare.

Prize Redemption Fees
Frontier charges a fee when you redeem your miles for award tickets. It is calculated on a sliding scale depending on how far in advance tickets are booked, as follows:

  1. Less than six days before the flight: $75
  2. Between seven and 20 days before the flight: $50
  3. Between 21 and 179 days before the flight: $15
  4. More than 80 days before the flight: Free

Other ways to avoid this fee besides booking well in advance are to be a Frontier Airlines World Mastercard holder, have some elite status with the airline, or travel on the same reservation as someone who does.

Redeposit fee
If you ever need to cancel an award reservation prior to departure, you will incur a $75 award redeposit fee. If you booked a last seat award, this fee will be waived.

Discounted Den Membership
Discount Den is a membership that costs $59.99 a year (first year is $99.99 — $59.99 plus $40 registration fee) and can help you save on exclusive deals, fly your kids for free, and extend exclusive discounted fares with up to eight additional people. in your reservation.

Baggage charges
Being a very low-cost airline, you will incur fees when taking bags with you. The fee varies depending on your flights, when you pay it in the booking process, and whether you have status with Frontier or not.

Family group
Frontier Miles allows you to combine your miles with those earned by family or friends. You can combine miles from the accounts of up to eight people, whether they are actually related to you or not; Frontier places no restrictions on the relationship between you and the person with whom you share your accounts.

There are no charges for doing so and there is no maximum or minimum on the number of miles you can accumulate.

Family pooling is a great idea so you can build up a larger mileage balance that you can put to good use, rather than having smaller, separate amounts in each individual member’s accounts.

This benefit is available only to Frontier elite members, starting with Elite 20K and up, as well as Frontier Airlines World Mastercard cardholders.
