KLM Pet Policy

Are you traveling with your pet and looking for the best comfortable airlines for pet travel? Checkout KLM Pet Policy, KLM allows passengers to travel with their pet both inside the cabin and in the cargo hold. Travelers are advised to gather the necessary paperwork for both themselves and their pets to guarantee a simple travel experience.

KLM Pets in the cabin

When traveling in Economy Class or Business Class within Europe, you are allowed to bring one cat or dog in the cabin. Your pet must be in good health and be housed in a kennel or closed pet travel bag that measures no more than 46 x 28 x 24 cm.

The combined weight of your pet, the travel luggage, and the kennel should not exceed 8kg. If you travel in Business or Premium Comfort Class, you are not permitted to deliver a pet in the cabin.

KLM Pet Policy

KLM Airlines only allows pet cats and dogs to travel on their aircraft for security and comfort reasons, as well as to adhere to IATA and animal welfare regulations. The number of pets each aircraft is permitted depends on the kind of aircraft, the destination, and the duration of the flight. Your pet must go at least fifteen weeks in advance of you and should take the same flight.

Key Factors for KLM Pet Travel

Establish Eligibility: KLM allows small cats and pups in the cabin, up to eight kilos (18 lbs, including the carrier). Make sure your pet satisfies the species requirements and weight limit.

Choosing a Travel Carrier: Your pet should travel in either a soft-sided, expandable animal tour bag (maximum of 135 cm L+W+H) or a hard-shelled kennel no taller than 20 cm. Make sure the creature in the carrier can stand upright.

Booking Your Flight: To book your flight, call the KLM customer service number at 1800 419 3044 or +1–844–902–4930 (OTA-Skip Waiting) in the United States. Check the requirements for traveling with a pet internationally for your destination, if any.

Larger Pets and Other Animals Pet Eligibility

If your pet is too big or too heavy for the cabin, it may travel in the air-conditioned cargo hold under the name “Accompanied baggage.” Your pet’s combined weight with the kennel cannot be more than 75 kg (165 lbs).

Use a hard-shelled, water-dish-equipped pet tour box that has received IATA approval for travel. Go over some advice on selecting the best pet tour crate.

Purchasing a Ticket: Make your travel reservations over the phone at KLM. Tell them that your pet will be traveling with you in the cargo hold. Give 48 hours warning for developments.
