The sad truth is that because it’s considered taboo to even talk mental illness in the Black community, disclosing that you are struggling with it could be considered a brave act. The sad truths are exactly what needs to be addressed so that we can debunk this foolishness and foster safe spaces for us, as Black people, to be able to address ANY and ALL of our health concerns, recognizing that mental health IS a necessary part of that.
