The 5 pillars of Atma-nirbhar Bharat, as announced by PM of India on 12 May’ 2020

On May 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Atma-nirbhar Bharat aka PM SVANidhi campaign during COVID-19 crisis and encouraged Indians to consume locally produced and take benefit of the large population and resource-rich motherland. And also launched a competition for designing a logo for this campaign.

On May 14, Dipesh Gurav alias Artist Banda, resident of Indore, enrolled in the competition and designed this logo for this campaign.

The logo as designed by Dipesh Gurav for Atma-nirbhar Bharat campaign, now officially used by the PM SVANidhi scheme

Tricoloured Indian Flag and its Ashok Chakra fused with Golden Eagle signifying inspiration, release from bondage, pride, royalty and a kind nudge to Indians to work and win back its ancient title — सोने की चिड़िया

Dipesh also uploaded this logo on his portfolio accounts as open-contribution and went to bed.

Next 24 hours…

The logo received appreciation with tweets, instagram posts and stories. And the whole nation started using it on eNews, youtube and marketing posts on social media.

Giving the logo top rank in google image search for Atma-nirbhar Bharat campaign.

Dipesh cherished to see his open-contribution being used as a national movement identity. I shared his enthusiasm and wished for his good work to get officially recognized.

And it got Official …

After 4 months of announcing the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched PM SVANidhi scheme to help street-vendors who are majorly affected by the pandemic.

PM SVANidhi officially used this logo and it got featured on the front page of all newspapers in the whole country, the official website, all social media handles of the government, eNews portals and blogs.

On launch day, the logo used officially by the government on their events and campaigns website, newspapers and other government handles

At this point, when I called Dipesh to congratulate him, I found myself feeling more exuberant than him.

As he said in a humble voice — “I could have done better”.

It is rare to find talented people, and it is much rarer to find the ones who can self-critic.

But …

Even after using this logo officially, the government of India has failed to give credits or recognize his work. And, the competition still shows to be active, without any result —

Dipesh is an amazing guy and naturally, I felt motivated to write this piece and get him the credits he deserves. And I request you to do the same by sharing this story.
