Eat a frog means; how to kick the procrastination habit and eat a frog with a pomodoro is a technique which helps you complete your work in time.

Procrastination is a habit due to which procrastinator did not start work until the deadline arrive.

So what is a pomodoro technique:

Pomodoro is a device which helps you in time management and also maximize your productivity. As we can see how this technique works in the above picture, it is a very simple technique.

  1. Identify your task for the day.
  2. Set a timer pomodoro or timer on the watch for 25 minutes.
  3. Work until 25 minutes complete.
  4. Take a five minutes break after 25 minutes.
  5. Repeat the above process.
  6. After every 4th break, take a longer beak for 15–30 minutes.

It is a practice which helps you manage your time and maximize your productivity.

Pomodoro is a device like tomato, it has a shape like tomato and work as a timer.

As you can see in the this picture, it is a pomodoro, it has shape like tomato and it work as a timer as you can see it has numbers on it. This device is used for pomodoro technique. We can also use a watch or a clock and set timer to 25 minutes and work until the alarm rings.

I have practice this experiment and as you know:

“Practice makes a man perfect”

You need to practice this technique to maximize your productivity. If you practice this technique you will be able to work more in less time but for this you need to work in a working environment where there is no disturbance and you can work calmly.

I have experienced this technique by practicing it for a day to complete assignment for my brother. In start it was a bit difficult as I was looking at the time trying to do most of the work in 25 minutes and there was disturbance around me as well as different distraction were disturbing me for example cricket match tomorrow, football match tonight, call a friend, watch a movie etc. There were also problems like I was not fully equipped during work I had to found scale as I needed it but I did not have it. So I was not able to work a lot.

In first 25 minutes I was not able to work a lot, I just write 1 page and the alarm rang then I took 5 minutes break and start again working on the problems I had in first 25 minutes, I found a calm environment and also this time I was fully equipped so I was able to work more. This time I wrote 2 pages but still I was not fully focused and did not work to my full potential.

After 25 minutes I took a 5 minutes break and I started again and this time I was fully focused. I was focused on my work and wrote 4 pages and after a 5 minutes break again I wrote 4 pages then I took 15 minutes break and started working again. I completed my work after 5 breaks, working for 150 minutes.

I am planning to do it in future and also I will try to improve it by practicing it more to complete my work as quickly as possible. It really helps you manage your time and also you get to know your capacity of work you can do in a specific time.

So,

“Eat that frog with a Pomodoro”

As Mark Twain said:

“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you rest of the day.”

It does not mean he is asking us to eat frog. He is advising us to complete the task given to us before doing anything else and that will make your day better.

He also said:

“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it First Thing In The Morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the BIGGEST one first.”

It’s mean complete your work first and if you have two task to complete, complete the tough one first.

It was a great learning experience and learned a lot of things like

“Manage your time,

Complete your assigned work,

Work in a calm environment,

Equip completely before starting.”
