If you’re reading this you’re probably toyed with the idea of product development in the past. In my journeys across the product marketing, development and R&D landscape I’ve come to realize that almost all products that failed in the past (New Coke anyone?) had compelling reasons. Great companies differentiate themselves by drawing out insights from their failures and starting from the ground up.

Nobody can chalk out a surefire approach to designing winning products; however what one can do is refer to a few general rules that help us through this passage.
