To speak twice as fast we have to think twice as fast. In a meeting, this is incredibly difficult because we’re already unconsciously trying to mirror one another’s mannerisms and synchronize one another’s cadence of verbalization.

We would have to exert mental effort to override our unconscious speech patterns. This would cut the amount of mental effort we would have available to verbalize our thoughts.
