Biblical Meaning Of Baptism

Before we know the Jesus Baptized, we know the meaning of Baptism. The word baptism is derived from the Greek word Baptizo which means to take a dip. Baptism was instituted by God Himself. (John 1:33, Matthew 28:19) To be baptized is the fulfillment of the Lord's intention. (Luke 7:29-30) Baptism is a command from the Lord.

To be baptized and given is the command of the Lord. Baptism, union with the Lord Jesus Christ, dying with the Lord, being buried and raised with Him. (Romans 6:3–6).

  • Fulfilling Righteousness:- The biblical meaning given by the Lord Jesus Himself is the fulfillment of righteousness. (Matthew 3:15)
  • Submission to God with a Pure Heart:- Baptism is also a symbol of the fact that we have now submitted ourselves to God, it does not mean taking away the union of the flesh. (1 Peter 3:21)

Why Was Jesus Baptized

Answer: The Baptism of John the Baptist was the baptism of repentance. He who repented of his sins and expressed his desire to live righteously was baptized by John of repentance in water.

Jesus Christ never committed any sin, nor could he, for he himself was holy in the flesh. was God. He had come to earth to be our righteousness.

Then why did he get baptized? Jesus Christ himself answered — to fulfill all righteousness. Brother, what righteousness was he fulfilling?

To know the answer, we have to understand one fact- Salvation does not happen by our actions but by the deeds of Jesus Christ.

Which deeds? Through all deeds from the birth of Jesus Christ to his death on the cross. Yes, Jesus Christ not only gave his life to save us, but he also lived for us.
