People can do the sober nights out without engaging in moral judgement of strangers’ choices and reveling in their failures for one’s own amusement, under the auspices of ‘relaxation’.

There is self-righteous satisfaction that comes with using other people, and the stories we construct about them, as our own pesonal cautionary tales, but that process requires attribution and judgement, without understanding.

Its a hard sell that there is any personal growth to be found in that space.
