Thank you for the comment. I hope to address those things in more detail as the blog continues, but what I find particularly disturbing is the way that people are framing public discourse as something to be won or lost at any cost. There is no longer a logical or factual standard to hold claims and results against, and people will radically reorient themselves to align with whatever shape they feel their “victory” must take. Everything can be twisted, spun, created, or dismissed in service of this victory that ultimately serves nothing and no one. Sometimes I worry that only a major catastrophe will shake us awake, and sometimes I think we’ll manage to claim victory in that too.
