I am very picky when it comes to period costume dramas and I do a lot of research before watching a drama. Of course, I used to read a lot of articles and reviews and this is my first time writing one myself after 4 years of watching Chinese dramas. I had a hard time selecting only 10 since my final list had 11. I removed one after looking at reviews, ratings and my personal view. I will mention that last drama at the bottom of the page. So don't worry.

Eternal Love is a great drama for those who like female-leading dramas. It is also one of the most-watched dramas ever in history. I liked its graphics very much.
The story focuses on Bai Qian and Ye Hua, two deities who fall in love. Ye Hua is the crown prince of heaven and Bai Qian is the monarch of Qing Qiu (Fox Country in Heaven). Their love story of thousands of years is worth watching and the personality of Bai Qian will surely give you several goosebumps. MUST WATCH!!!!.

It is also a great drama involving goddesses, gods, demons and cultivation. Donghua and Bai Fenju also goes through thousand years of love in many worlds. It is also a great female leading drama with stunning scenes of Bai Fengju. They also go to the mortal realm.

7. Ancient Love Poetry.

Some might be wondering why I put it as 7th when it has more ratings than 6th. Of course, because it is better than 6th. Ancient Love Poetry must be new to most of you since it is a new drama. The reason it has very few voters is also because of that. So believe me and give it a try.
It is also a story of a powerful goddess and a god. Both are true gods (more powerful than normal gods and is born on a platform by heaven and earth). Bai Ju a true God becomes master of the lazy goddess and turns her into a powerful goddess.
They are also reborn and their love is awesome. I agree the first few episodes are boring (for me). But after about 5 episodes, it is great.
8. Fights Breaks Sphere. (Battle Through The Heavens)

This might not be new for many. Heard of donghua with the same name?. Yes, this drama is an adaptation of the donghua with the same name "Fights Breaks Sphere".
The last season of the donghua end just about 1 month ago. This drama is not suitable for those who don't like suspense. Because the second season is still not released and the first season ends with a twist. However, the scenes until then are worth watching.
This is also a Cinderella-type story where the main character is trash who can't cultivate but later being accepted as a disciple by his mother's master who lived in his ring given by his mother. He became more powerful. It includes stories of hatred, love etc.
9. The Journey Of Flower.

Prohibited relationship between a master and disciple. It is more exciting than normal ones because the disciple who is a girl gets selected by the master and later she also possess kinda devil power and becomes the most powerful one. The actress also has a relation with a demon lord who sees her as a sister. It might look old in picture but it is very good drama.
It has a season 2 set in modern times. It didn't look interesting as this, so I didn't watch it yet. But you could give it a try if you are not so picky. Somehow, I am not much curious about it.
10. The Fighter Of Destiny.

Here we are at the bottom of this list which also made it hard for me. I liked this drama so much that I couldn't remove it from the list. I am not selfish😔 and I hope you will like it.
The story of a common Taoist who travels to the capital city to cure his disease and opens a long-closed cultivation sect (one of the top sects in the capital) and becomes the head of it. Later his original identity and big twist are revealed. It also has a cute romance.
Honorary Mentions
I can't bear to kick these two out😅. Noble Aspirations and Princess Agents are the dramas that got failed in the grand final of the selection process🤪.
Noble Aspirations have little more ratings than The Fighter of Destiny but fewer people voted. It is the drama of a righteous sect disciple who possesses a demon power and is in love with a demon while not joining them. But he soon joins them after his sect betrayed him. It has 2 seasons and 3rd season is about to come.
Princess is Wuxia to start with. Her power symbol is released at the end of the first season where she is being drowned. It is great female leading. And its first episode has the highest views on Youtube (40M).
