The 3D Printing Revolution That Wasn’t

Just wanted to say there’s a pretty fascinating conversation around 3D printing, on the desktop and at the enterprise level, at this Hacker News thread:

It helps fill out this article, which was almost wholly on MakerBot and an attempt at reaching a consumer market. I guess I’d add that of course 3D printing is useful for rapid prototyping—engineers, industrial designers, etc.—and that it’s poised to make some real changes at the enterprise level. (And some companies, like GE, are already seeing the results.)
