Fantasy Sports…Illegal?

The recent issue over whether websites like Draft Kings and Fan Duel should be legal have been widely debated. Draft Kings and Fan Duel are websites where you can bet money on certain players and create fantasy lineups for one day only instead of an entire season. These sites consider this a “game of skill” which is why it is not considered gambling. Online gambling through games of chance is illegal in the U.S. Picking fantasy line ups and betting on them is considered to others as a game of chance which is why some states have banned these websites such as Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New York, and Washington. These sites advertise that the most basic sports fan can sign up and win millions by playing these games. If they are advertising that a basic fan can throw a line up together and win then how is it considered a skilled game? It has a lot of chance involved which is why I think these sites should be banned under the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in 2006.
