I search my images for that one

The one where you have that look in your eye

Or else the time your lips parted just so

No words spoken, nothing left unsaid

I flip through 4 X 6s for the one with the light behind you

Your face lost in shadows,

Your hair blazing

The disappointing pictures offer only smiles and seasides

But I remember passion and heat

I remember longing unfettered

Your love at dawn, pure as dew

My glossy photos only cloud the truth

With their crystal vision of warm days

But behind my closed eyelids I see a thousand images

Of your touch, of your kiss, of your embrace

Of how you loved me

Of how I loved you
