Louder than positivity sometimes
I think we often believe the world is such a bad place because negativity is too popular.
Media makes their money by getting views. And when you have a world with too much media, your content becomes less about being right, and more about just getting the story out there.
Shock value becomes increasingly important. Which means that negativity gets highlighted.
I think we need to do a better job at praising Positivity. People should know about the good things happening in the world.
With the popularity of social media, we’re getting stories, and news, and…
BE MORE CONSTRUCTIVE
So I’m just in bed relaxing, ignoring all my duties. I know I need to get things done, and stop being a couch potato. So I say to my girl, please give me an ultimatum. Force me to work. She said okay, fine, if you don’t make a video by the end of the week, you can’t go out this weekend. I said okay, take away the freedom. I got you, good deal, thanks.
And of course, I still don’t do it that day, and I still don’t do it the next day.
I hate the…
IGNORE THE JUDGEMENT AND JUST DO
For a while now, I’ve been on a journey to be a more creative person. Express my thoughts. Express my passions… my interests. And I find that, it’s the hardest to make videos. I’ve been trying to figure out why it’s harder for me to make video content. And I think I figured out that it relates back to my love language. My love language is time. And I don’t like wasting a lot of people’s time. …
DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS
I’ve been realizing for a while now that, even though YouTube is a platform that inspires me to create more, and makes me want to share my thoughts and experiences, it is also a platform that creates insecurities.
I look at what other creators are capable of doing i.e. cinematographers, photographers. And it makes me feel bad about my work. It makes me not want to put out content. And that is something that I am going to have to practice on.
I need to stop comparing myself to others. I often forget that when…
THE MIND IS ON DEFENSE
A big reason why we don’t get things done, is because the mind wants to protect us from anything that feels uncomfortable. Anything that takes us out of our comfort zone.
The mind is on defense.
So what happens is, we don’t actually go out and do what we should be doing. We don’t go out and pursue our happiness, because it wants to protect us from fear.
But we have to overcome that because on the other side of fear is an actual good experience for us. Better life. Better health. Better opportunities. …
TRYING TO BE ME AGAIN
I work a regular 9 to 5 job.
I don’t hate it… but I don’t love it either.
It allows me to afford shelter, food, internet, and occasionally, to go out and have some fun with friends and family.
So I’m grateful for that.
But it’s mundane.
It’s the same old thing day in and day out. And I know I’m capable of more than that.
I know that I have ideas and thoughts that deserve to be shared with the world. I know I have a creative side. Is it the best? Not likely…
I often muse about people’s inability to accomplish their goals and the reasons why they falter. So I made a video of a poem about taking action.
Life is a constant filled with distractions and complications. Sometimes they benefit us, and sometimes they derail us. Life has a way of interrupting us right when we’re trying to improve ourselves. That’s not our fault, that’s just life. That being said, it does become our fault when we use life’s interruptions as a crutch. I can’t exercise today because that extra project wore me out. We denounce our abilities…
Another life died and I am not surprised
By the way, this is not the first time
Yes pray for resolution in your lifetime, but
Expect a recurrence of this same crime
Another life died because he pinned him down
He couldn’t lynch him so he just kneeled on his crown
Yes he knows he didn’t have any air
He says, “Jimmy cracked corn and he didn’t care”
Another life died by the hand of a protector
Play the scratch card and reveal a murderer
Drive down the road for protests of fire
Pour patience down the drain. …
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME
One day I sent my neighbour a text about an issue we’d been having. He texted back that he’d rather speak in person because tone is lost through text. I used active words and definitive sentences so I was kind of confused by this statement but regardless, I agreed to meet face to face.
During our conversation, he elaborated more on not knowing how his tone comes off in texts and not knowing if he needs to put emojis to appear gentler. I advised that I don’t need such actions. …
I muse upon the muses that amuse me.
