How many times do you find yourself scrolling through reels or youtube shorts instead of working on the things you pomised to do yesterday.

The dopamine rush of watching stupid short form content that isn’t really short when watched for hours straight is a guilty plessure enjoyed by many.

Now again, if you going to read this article just to give yourself the validation that you are utilising your time, go ahead and break your screen just like you do but I really recommend doing at least one of the following.

a youth delved in social media

Creation >>> Consumption

I bet you have the access to the same environment that many of the creators do. What you lack is the mindset.

Don’t know where to get started?

  • Make a social media page
  • Record or write down anything new, fun, inspiring or even cringe (Pro tip: That works the best) you come across
  • Post as much as you can- This is the part where most pople suck. They want to fine tune it until it becomes worth winning a nobel prize. JUST START.

Build a Personal Brand

This is even better than the 1st one.

Although, if you’re an introvert like me, you can skip this for the time being.

Building a personal brand is about more than just self-promotion; it’s a process of self-discovery, storytelling, and connection-building that opens doors to new opportunities.

Network

Okay, I get it.

The idea of networking on Instagram might sound a bit odd at first.

I mean, we’re used to posting pictures of our food, pets, and those sunsets that make us feel like poetic geniuses.

Now obviosuly, your favourite creator who got 888K fans won’t reply to you. Start small coz you never know where you can get great insights from or you might just build a solid connection online.

Start a small biz

Now, I’m no business expert but let me tell you this is super fun, especially if you like content creation with minimal efforts (although requires money)

A lil side hustle hurt no one.

  • Pick any niche you love. Clothes, sneakers, bags, jewellry, even food or maybe invent something of your own.
  • Stay consistent. Again that’s where most people fail. Don’t expect anything until 3 months. Yes! That’s the least time you need to give to have some traction.
  • Hear of barter collabs? If not then put on your research caps.

Scroll

valuable content not reels , duh.

Knowledge is not always boring. Follow people/Pages that make it interesting.

Spirituality, motivation, Finance, self growth, podcast clips. Follow at least one page from these niches.

“The road to success is paved with the bricks of creation, not the pebbles of consumption.” — John C. Maxwell

Wish you all the best on this jorney from scrolling to creating.
