She is my best friend and currently doing M.Phill from Microbiology and molecular genetics. I asked her following questions

What is your life of purpose?
I want to help the street child in getting their rights. It is painful for me to see them working at the age where they should be playing.

What is the reason behind your purpose?
My father used to work in Haleeb. But he was a teacher too. Everyday no matter how tired and restless he was, he taught kids free of cost. I feel like it is a legacy I have to fulfill.

What is the pain (sacrifice) that you are willing to sustain to reach your goals?
I am willing to work for extra hours. I have not planned yet but I definitely looking forward to help underprivileged child by any way.

What are you passionate (or burdened) by?
As I already mentioned I feel like this is a work of my father that I have to continue. He died at young age so I feel responsible to complete his dream.

Mahe Tayyibah

What is your life of purpose?
To contribute a useful part in the community development.

What is the reason behind your purpose?
The country we are living in has a status fabrication in the society on the basis of monetary. The under privileged community of our society is devoid of its basic rights and privileges. Therefore, I want to endeavor to inculcate a sense of equality and balance in the society.

What is the pain that you are willing to sustain to reach your goals?
I have an altruistic behavior in order to achieve my goals. I can bear the burden more than my capacity to reach my goal.

What are you burdened by?
In a country like Pakistan societal pressure is the main hindrance particularly for girls because the misogynist thinking still exists in our society.

I can sacrifice pleasures and hobbies to reach my goal.

Some years of hardships can give you decades of freedom.

What are you passionate by?
I feel like I have humongous amount of energy that makes you want to do more and more. I can do many tasks at time and still feel fresh.

Abu Bakar Siddique

Age 24 Teacher

What is your life of purpose?
To teach the young blood of my country for better lives.

What is the reason behind your purpose?
I always felt the need of steering youth in right direction. You is the most powerful weapon of any country and I feel that in Pakistan there are not enough good teachers. I think it is the responsibility of every educated person to give time to young people and help them.

What is the pain that you are willing to sustain to reach your goals?
I am a workaholic and I am willing to work for extra hours. I am already teaching at Punjab College and I give my student extra time whenever they need.

What are you burdened by?
I feel the pressure of so much to do in this field and many less resources. I want to ask many more fellow teachers to teach students outside books. To tell them the real reasons we all are here. I want to make the world better and youth is my asset.

Take Away

They all had very diverse purposes but I learned that everything require efforts. For everything there is a price and you have to pay it. There are very few people who are clear about their purpose and also their plan to achieve it. They asked me many questions in return. I even asked a person 33 years old and he said “My almost half of life have passed already, so I cannot do anything. It is your time and responsibility to work for any purpose now. I have a family and I am hardly making up for them.”

I was really disappointed after listening to him. Age is just a number and such a lame excuse. If everyone thinks it’s not right time no one will be able to achieve anything.

I was bombarded with many questions for which I didn’t have any satisfying answer. I think this course should narrate about how to listen ourselves more clearly? What is the way to discover what we actually want? How can we know the pain we might encounter?

Everyone have their own reason but mostly the reasons were personal. I think we all want to change the things we have faced in our lives. My reason is not personal at all. I want to add trees in this world to continue the life here. I believe that all these wonderful people and many who yet have to come must have a chance to live. The climate changes are a threat to end human life on earth so I want to add trees. I want humanity to have more time as I believe in goodness.
