So finally made it into week 2 of the bootcamp. Its been a great journey so far and I have appreciated all the help along the way to make this journey smooth. So week 2 is here and its project week. A python CLI application highly dependent on my knowledge of OOP.
The first challenge of this project was using docopt as a command line interface. I have never heard of this thing before and its quite new hence limited documentation and tutorial online. I have now come to expect this from Andela. It was not easy to understand at first and after reading through the documentation provided and discussing with fellow bootcampers we were able to get a better understanding of how it works.
Over the period of the bootcamp I have seen that Andela may willingly give you challenges that are difficult using technologies you have never used , maybe to test you on how quickly you learn and your willingness to admit you don't know or understand something and ask for help. Asking for help is almost always quicker and crawling through google until you find a solution that is tailored for you. I have learnt that sometimes asking a fellow bootcamper or learning facilitator will get you the right help quicker than anything and this is what I feel Andela wants us to do.
We dont grow when thing are easy, we grow when we face challenges.
