I doubt that a backup plan to stop it would be useful or even feasible.

As yourself outlined, this is already here, perhaps not to a full extent yet. But I’d bet that couple dozen startups are working on this, handful of them are already funded, and few of those already have some relationships with m&a in Big Three (Google, Facebook, Amazon)

So, you can’t stop it.

But instead one can teach it to help you, not to distract. Algorithms learn on your behaviour. You control it, not an Evil Corp Inc.

And that’s a whole different can of worms.
