First of all, what is the middle class?

In India, “middle-class” is a much-coveted term. The 2010 National Council for Applied Economic Research defined the middle class as those with household incomes between 2 lakh and Rs 10 lakh per annum.30-July-2022

So it ranges between 2 lakh to 10 lakh but surely not all will lie above 5 lakh. Well the middle class term is not of the same meaning for everyone, as the majority of the people lie below 5 lakh income per year so its meaning differs in different classes of middle class.

I wouldn't go deep into the statistics of the middle class but will take only one part of it, that is the life of a middle class girl.

Even though the lives of all girls are somehow challenging, the life of a middle class girl is more arduous. The difficulties faced by her from an early age on even smaller things become more laborious for her.

I would like to point out the problems she faces on every other day :

  1. From the day she was born, her parents considered her a burden because she wouldn't be the earning hand for them.
  2. From an early age she used to hear that you have to go to another house.
  3. Giving more preference and love to boys impacts her mind.
  4. Showing more care to boys by her parents and other family members makes her feel as if this world is not meant for her.
  5. Admitting boys in reputed schools and admitting girls in government schools because the education of girls are just formality.
  6. while boys are earning hands. So giving them the best possible education becomes necessary for parents.
  7. It’s is assumed that Spending on girls' education is totally waste because at the end she has to go to another house so despite giving them education this money is to be saved for their marriage.
  8. Reminding girls often that they must learn to cook as this is the only job she has to and could do.
  9. Most of the girls become voiceless from an early age because no importance is being paid to her.
  10. Although some girls fight all odds, there comes a point in life when she has to bow-down her head in front of her family.
  11. Higher education becomes a dream for her.
  12. The aspirations and dreams seem as never happening.
  13. She can't demand everything as she has to prioritize only important and necessary things.
  14. Buying expensive clothes becomes a dream for her.
  15. Going out with friends and enjoying food in restaurants is not meant for her.
  16. She can't even explain it to anybody because it would make her disloyal to parents.
  17. She can’t express her emotions to her parents about how she is feeling from all this because she feels they won’t feel and understand it.
  18. She can't reveal his choice of marriage because it would make her characterless.
  19. She has to accept everything which is offered to her, and she can't put her choice in everything.
  20. Lastly middle class girls are mute spectators for every happening in their lives.

Even though the condition has improved now for most of the middle class girls, the girls are excelling in every field and making her parents proud but deep down they are still facing issues. The birth of a boy child is still preferred in most parts of the world, and the birth of a girl child is considered a sin.

Lastly,

  • I support all middle class girls who fought and are still fighting and I salute them for this courage.
  • Hey girls,Fight for every right and everything you want in your life.
  • Paint your life with colorful colours.
  • Just don’t listen so much negative from others and move ahead.
  • Make your history.
  • Set goals and keep fulfilling them.
  • If you fail continuously, don't ever give up.
  • try every other way to pass on this stage.
  • Try try and just try.
  • Be consistent in every effort you are making to improve your life.
  • Good luck and best wishes for every middle class girl.
