Yeah, that’s South Indian, and is not pronounced as you or anyone pronounce Anna….it’s said with a stress on ‘nn’, more like <ann-nna>.

The name, as you described is so beautiful, really, though I read the Quran and have quite fair knowledge of the Bible, but I would have never known it; maybe if I’d have asked my grandmas then, but that’s anoother thing. So pretty really.

However in Indian, that’s a common Hindu name, (we’ve got this superstar actress of the same name, and much more celebs): in Hindi, with origin obviously from the Ancient Sanskrit, I can break it into two terms but they dont seem to make sense, because though they mean something,but together, not so much; so with a little help from Google, it’s a single accepted from Sanskrit into Hindi word meaning “a term of endearment, Ray of Light, or Lightning”. Hmm.. this is beautiful too, ain’t it!
