The experience of life in modern times is an experience of opinion overload. Thinking about my relationship with social media and technology recently, what distraction and dissatisfaction that digs into me stem from what I thought was information overload and the fear of missing out (FOMO). But, with an honest look, it’s not the interesting content and the things I genuinely want to learn/discover that cause my digital fatigue. It’s all the unsolicited opinion — especially political opinions.
I’d say, “If I wanted your opinion, I’d ask for it,” but then again, going online on most platforms these days IS asking for it.
