LIFE LESSONS AND THE BIBLE (LL.B) DAY 8
THOUGHTS (2)
Hey there!
Trust you are good and how is the holiday going at your side?
I learnt about thoughts yesterday and my lesson for today flows from yesterday's lesson.
Here's my lesson for today: I must give my mind what to ponder on, if not, it will find one for itself or the devil will project one on it.
One must pay attention to one's thoughts because the quality of one's thoughts determines the quality of one's words, actions and reactions. If a person's thoughts are rich, it will reflect in his actions and if it is otherwise, it will also reflect.
However, the mind likes to wander about. That is why it is very important to give the mind what to think and ponder on rather than leave it because the mind cannot be in vacuum.
Whenever you find your mind wandering, call it back. As many time as you find it wandering, keep calling it back until it stays.
To effectively do this, you should have a scripture before your mind, even if it is the popular John 3:16 or "Jesus wept."
Since the Word of God is spirit and life, no matter how short the verse is, the end product of pondering on it will be spirit and life.
You will be surprised that the same John 3:16 that is good for memory verse can open you up to ideas as you ponder on it because the Word of God is spirit and life. That is the best thing to feed the mind or soul with.
Philippians 4:8 and Isaiah 26:3 are my authorities.
So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you!
I hope you learnt something. What did you learn today?
