Why am I not surprised?
I am an Indian and I am not proud to admit this. I almost never watch Indian movies.
And this is why.
An average Indian movie is male (read “Hero”) centric, and portrays women no more than sexual beings. The female lead (Heroine) has to fall in love with the Hero no matter how worthless piece of shit he is. Every frame that she enters into, in the later part, her only job is to glorify the masculinity of the Hero.
Oh, I almost forgot. Lead woman doesn’t need to have acting skills as long as she has the body of a lingerie model.
Enough said.
I reckon sexism is the most distinctive feature of an Indian movie.
