“I see so many more homeless and terribly sad cases right here in the United States.”

Is that because you *live* in the United States? Have you ever seen anyone die of dehydration while walking miles to the nearest semi-clean water source — that might kill them of a horrible disease anyway?

Are you *sure* it’s “throwing money out” to help such a person achieve the basic dignity beyond which every American lives?
