Why be an entrepreneur ?

Enough has been said & written on this subject. From pursuing a passion to being a job creator rather than being a seeker or value creation different viewpoints bring out a different perspective to this subject.
However, I would like to today talk about 2 concepts on why in this increasing complex world one should try & be an entrepreneur as early as possible.
- Inversion of Stability to Vulnerability ladder

When you are in a job in the corporate world and as you continue to grow, there is only so much space to grow and therefore what starts off with the promise of stability turns into a state of vulnerability. Having spent a lot of time in jobs alone also implies higher vulnerability on account of increased liabilities with growing age. My first point in supporting being an entreprenuer is the inversion of this Stability, Vulnerability ladder. If you start young you may face higher risk, vulnerability to start with but since age is on your side as also your liabilities are less, it only makes sense to go for it. Obviously, as the business grows your stability would improve unlike being in a job.
2. The concept of BIO
Today, things are changing so fast that in one sudden stroke you could be redundant. Constant reskillling is the name of the game & perhpas the best illustration of this would be whats happening to IT people with 8+ years of experience today.
Hence the concept of BIO or “Built in Obsolescence” — today most careers you are preparing for or are into at this point in time could go out of steam sooner than later. AI for example is beginning to threaten millions of jobs.
Entrepreneurship on the other hand keeps you in touch with the world, requirements of the customers, evolving landscape & thus gives you an opportunity to keep altering your business model or product offerings & keep you relevant.
So, if entrepreneurship has been on your mind I hope this article of mine helps you make a decision! Go for it!
