OnePlus 5

A month ago, OnePlus launched its flagship killer OnePlus 5 and thousands of viewers turned up to see the live stream of the launch event. The Co-founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei stated:

“If you came for the specs you can leave now, for those who came here for the right reasons, it’s time to focus on what matters”.

OnePlus 5 is surely going to win the hearts of many. Let’s have a look on the device more precisely. If we talk about the design: OnePlus 5 is a very well designed piece of hardware. It has the unique curves all around making it slimmest OnePlus at 7.2mm. Once you hold the device, you’ll feel how smooth and comfortable it is. The top and the bottom of the smartphone are a lot curvier than before. The volume, power, and an alert slider reside in the familiar positions and the headphone jack is still intact.

The Camera: OnePlus’s camera has never been the bad, but neither it’s been the best. OnePlus 5 follows the new trend of dual-camera setup. The rear camera comprises of a 16MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture with outstanding low-light capabilities and a 20MP telephoto lens. The camera has an ability to produce professional looking images with a blurred background. The front camera comprises of a 16MP sensor that allows you to capture breathtaking pictures. The Snapdragon 835 enables the OnePlus 5 to shoot 4K @30fps and 1080p @60fps and even a 120fps slo-mo video at 720p resolution.

If we talk about the software: OnePlus’ software has its own pros and cons. The Oxygen OS is one of the smoothest software that exists in the android market. The experience that its software gives you while using the device is unmatchable to any other available software in the market. The bad part here is, OnePlus is not very good with the updates it gets. The updates become irregular once the OnePlus devices become old.

There are a lot of other things that make up the OnePlus 5 and this also includes the things that didn’t make it to the final device like water resistance or a Quad HD display etc. OnePlus 5 is indeed a great smartphone at this price.
