Wuhan, Hubei, China. It’s a Chinese virus. It’s not racist. It’s a fact.
How did it spread throughout the globe?
International Travel.
What are International traveling places?
Airports and seaports.
How would Covid-19 enter your country?
Through Airports and seaports.
Could the governments stop international travel to stop virus spread?
Absolutely.
When did the first news appear about the virus?
January 2020.
When did the first lockdown start?
10th March 2020 in Italy.
If the governments had stopped international travel to airports and seaports right when the first news came, maybe most of these 4.3 Million people could have avoided the infection. The death toll would not have shot to nearly 300K lives, those were important lives that the world will never get back.
I know the governments are here to govern. They did what they could have done. But, as a human, I am forced to think about how this could have gone much better if the governments acted sooner. Not because we expect them to act sooner on these things, but because they have the resources and teams.
There were people who speculated that this virus could go worse quickly. Yes, I will admit, they were just speculating but why the experts didn’t take them seriously? or at least did not look into it? They don’t seem like an expert to me now.
And I could go on and on, but the point is the governments didn’t act in a timely manner and the situation got out of hand.
It’s not only the governments but people too. People could have been more careful? Yes, they should have been. Yes, careful people also got infected, and we can’t do anything about it. But, think of how many people were careless in handling the situation and taking precautions to avoid the infection? Too many. Because of those careless people, careful people also got infected. Who’s responsible for that? We lost lives. Who’s responsible? What a great cost just for not following hygiene. I am calling out those careless people as “Cold-blooded Murderers”.
Now, that the virus has spread throughout the globe, how do we stop it? Well, there’s a ton of information you already know like following proper hygiene to avoid unnecessary travel, etc. so I am not going to reiterate on that.
The vaccine news looks promising. Many countries have claimed to be a lot closer on the final vaccine, human trials have already begun. What a fantastic science advancement in the times of the ultimate pressure for the survival of the human race. It’s true, people are more productive when they are under pressure.
Isn’t the lockdown enough?
Unfortunately, as much as I’d live to belive it is but it isn’t.
How long this lockdown has to go on? Many experts suggest the lockdown should go for an entire year. Is that feasible? No, not at all. If that happens, what will be the meaning of life even if you are alive? How will people eat? The governments will provide? Huh, we’ve seen what the governments could do.
I welcome you to this post-apocalyptic world. We can only hope that the people and the governments will act smarter about this the next time. Yes, there is going to be the next time and after that and after that. It’s not going to stop. It’s just a question of when not if. The same thing will happen again in the future. Probably sooner than expected. Let’s hope we’re not alive when it happens because it’s only going to get worse.
Stupidity
Why these people are protesting? What’s wrong with them? Now, that we are past the maximum prevention phase, people need to stay in their homes and obey social distancing in order for them to be safe. Why don’t they? Do they wanna die?
