This is true if you are directly affected by it and you know it. If it is abstract and it you cannot comprehend it, then you don’t really care. Imagine if emails went out to the people of Iceland saying that because of the prime minister’s actions you could not “make repairs to your car”, “get that operation done for your mom”, or “send your kid to college”. That’s when it hits home.
