I’ll be mighty surprised if Doctor Strange doesn’t take the visual effects win, honestly. For a movie totally in the “make or break via VFX” pool, Doc Strange somehow managed to adapt Ditko’s batshit art design into a functional real-world aesthetic, which is an astounding achievement unmatched by basically every other nominee.
