Viktor Frankl & Supertramp
For the life of me (no pun intended), I can’t remember where I read it. “You will only be asked one question when you die: Why didn’t you become you?”

Thought it was Viktor Frankl but can’t seem to find it. Likely scrambled in my head over the years its been knocking around. Which I guess is why google can’t find it. Regardless, quite an insight. No universal meaning in life. No universal goal in life. Only an individual one. And in that perhaps the universal. A mystery for each to solve. Limited time to solve it.
Struck me to look for it when driving this morning. A Supertramp song (you’re getting on when K-EARTH now plays stuff you remember). Perhaps they said it better.

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they’d be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.
There are times when all the world’s asleep,
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man.
Won’t you please, please tell me what we’ve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.
