As a paid user, this may actually get me to cancel.

  1. When you implemented the Tinder-esque swipe feature on the phone app, “likes” became as useless as they are on Tinder.
  2. I can’t count the number of times that a conversation fell through, but a week or so later I felt okay re-establishing communication because I could tell she was looking at my profile. “Likes” are a one-time indicator. Maybe someone liked me 6 or 12 months ago or more and only recently rejoined the site. What indicator do I have that there is still interest? Visits are an indicator of sustained interest. You can scream “just send a message!” all day long, but people generally don’t like sending messages if they have no indication that it will go anywhere.

If you’re going to claim that removing visitors improves the experience, give us some data. Otherwise, I don’t buy it.
